Terms & Conditions – Direct Bookings

We want your stay at The Old Pink Library to feel relaxed, comfortable and wonderfully easy from the moment you book. These terms are simply here to help everything run smoothly for both our guests and our home. By confirming your booking, you agree to the following:

 

Booking & Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your stay. The person making the booking must be over 25 years old and is responsible for all guests staying at the property.

 

Check-in: from 3:00pm Check-out: by 10:00am If we can offer an earlier arrival or slower departure we always will, but this depends on our cleaning schedule and incoming/outgoing  guests.

 

 

Cancellations

Bookings are non-refundable after 8 weeks before arrival.If your plans change, we will always try to re-let the dates and, if successful, we may be able to offer a refund minus any costs or discounts needed to secure a replacement booking. We strongly recommend travel insurance, especially for larger group stays.

 

Looking After the House

The Old Pink Library is an old and much-loved home, full of character and collected things. We simply ask guests to treat it with care and kindness during their stay. Accidents happen — if anything gets damaged or broken, please just let us know as soon as possible so we can put it right. we won't be bothered if you smash the odd glass. The lead guest accepts responsibility for any significant damage, missing items, or additional cleaning required after departure.

 

Guest Numbers & Gatherings

Only the number of guests confirmed at booking may stay at the house unless agreed in advance.We welcome celebrations, long lunches and memorable weekends, but larger parties, events or outside visitors must be discussed with us beforehand will always help where we can.

 

Noise & Respect for Neighbours

The house sits within a peaceful village community and we ask guests to be considerate, especially outdoors in the evenings. Please keep outdoor noise to a minimum after 10:00pm.

 

Children

Children are very welcome. As with many older houses, there are stairs, fireplaces, uneven outdoor areas and other original features, so children should always be supervised by parents or guardians.

 

Pets

Well-behaved dogs are welcome .We ask that pets are supervised, kept off beds and soft furnishings where possible, and that the garden and surrounding area are left clean and tidy. Additional cleaning charges may apply if needed.

 

Smoking

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the house.

 

Liability

Guests stay at The Old Pink Library entirely at their own risk. We cannot accept responsibility for personal belongings, accidents or injuries during your stay, or interruptions caused by circumstances outside our control, including severe weather, power cuts, internet outages, pandemics or road closures. We recommend you take out travel insurance.

 

Our Right to Refuse Bookings

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings where we believe the property may be unsuitable for the proposed stay or where these terms are not respected.Governing LawThese terms are governed by Scottish law.

Most importantly, we hope you feel completely at home here — whether you’re gathering with friends, cooking long dinners, celebrating something special, or simply slowing down for a few days or weeks  in Balquhidder.
